Overview

The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update Course course is designed for Linux system administrators with RHCE certificationor equivalent skills experienced with Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 3 or version 4 to bring them up to date on the latest technologies now in the new Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5.

This course offers the same lecture, lab, and hands-on learning as RHUP304 without the RHCE exam on the fourth day.

This course is suitable for Linux system administrators who have significant real world experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, versions 3 and/or 4.

Prerequisites

The RHUP305 course requires an RHCE certification or equivalent experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Those with RHCT-level knowledge will benefit from this course, but some of the material in this course will assume knowledge that RHCT certificants may not have mastered. In addition, customers should have broad experience with Red Hat enterprise Linux version 3 and/or 4.

What you will learn

The course will teach participants some of the new features of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5, aimed at Linux system administrators familiar with versions 3 and/or 4 of Enterprise Linux. Although the course will focus on material new from version 4 to version 5, some version 3 to version 5 material is included as well.
