Overview

This two-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills to design a portals and collaboration infrastructure solution based on Microsoft technologies.

This course is intended for enterprise systems administrators who are engaged in the evaluation, planning, and deployment of solutions across Windows servers, including test and certification of updates and patches to be deployed enterprise-wide. The most difficult issues are escalated to enterprise systems administrators.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have xperience implementing, managing, and supporting a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 environment, experience in implementing, managing, and supporting a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 environment and basic knowledge of .NET Framework application development.

In addition, it is recommended, but not required, that students have completed Clinic 5045, Inside Look at Developing with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Clinic 5046, Inside Look at Building and Developing Solutions with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

Delegates will learn how to

  • Describe and plan portals and collaboration solutions for an organization.
  • Design and create a collaborative workspace that increases user productivity.
  • Plan and implement a complete solution for accessing people and information.
  • Design and implement an integrated communication system as part of a portal and collaboration solution.
  • Develop people-driven processes and integrate them with customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning systems.
