Overview

Learn how to successfully plan and deploy a Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) installation that allows you to provide relevant software and updates to designated users quickly and at reduced costs.

This three-day course enables you to perform all tasks required in the planning and deployment phases of SMS.

This course is intended for Systems Engineers responsible for planning and deploying SMS in an enterprise environment.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, it is very important that delegates have:

  • Completed Course 2596, Managing Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, or have equivalent knowledge
  • Completed Course 2279, Planning, Implementing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003 Active Directory® Infrastructure, or have equivalent knowledge

System engineers should also have strong working knowledge of:

  • IP addressing. This is covered in Course 2151, Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials.
  • Windows 2003 core technologies. This is covered in Course 2273, Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment.
