NEW DATES NOW ADDED DUE TO SELL OUT EVENTS

“Following the 2007 launch of Exchange, Vista and Office, in 2008 Microsoft completes its biggest ever product launch with the arrival of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008.. More than ever, IT Managers need to understand what these new products deliver and what if anything they can do for their organisations. All the pieces are in place to allow organisations to build and deploy solutions that offer more control and functionality than ever before. Although the primary focus of this seminar will be a review of the key capabilities of Server 2008, we will also look at how the line is blurred between Windows Server, SQL 2008 and Visual Studio 2008, discussing how together they will impact your business from a technology and skills perspective.”

Overview

Building on the hugely popular “What’s New at Microsoft Seminar”, Gary Duffield, Chief Learning Architect will guide you through the eighteen versions of Windows Server 2008. Helping organisations understand what is available and which version might be right for them. In addition to tried and trusted technologies such as Active Directory, Windows Server brings new capabilities such as Hyper-V and Server core mode and the return of the Backup Domain Controller for the branch office.

Windows Server 2008 has improvements in four key areas, Web, virtualisation, security and the Core Foundation.

Although the primary focus is on Windows Server 2008, the seminar will also outline changes to Microsoft’s certification programme, introduce Microsoft IO and will also position the latest release of Visual Studio and SQL 2008. The session concludes with an update on Vista and Office 2007.

Please note, seminars running in the morning start at 10:30am, with the centre open for registration from 10:00am. Seminars running in the afternoon begin registration at 2pm, with the seminar commencing at 2:30pm
