Overview
This course provides delegates with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, and administer Microsoft Exchange 2000. This course also provides prerequisite knowledge and skills required for Course 1573, Designing Microsoft Exchange 2000 for the Enterprise, and Course 2355, Upgrading Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 to Microsoft Exchange 2000.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 and should have completed course 1560, Updating Support Skills from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Microsoft Windows 2000 or course 2154, Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services or equivalent working knowledge. Delegates should have a working knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, and IIS, working knowledge of Internet protocols (including POP3 or IMAP4, SMTP, HTTP, and NNTP) and a knowledge of Exchange Server 5.5 (beneficial but not essential).
Delegates will learn how to
- Create and manage storage groups, mailbox stores, and public folder stores
- Create and manage users, contacts, and distribution lists
- Create and manage public folders
- Create and apply mailbox store and public folder store policies
- Create SMTP connector to the Internet
- Connect Exchange routing groups
