Overview

This introductory workshop will provide a good foundation for those new to selling. The content focuses on basic sales formula and skills. To be successful, today’s salesperson must be very well organised, know how to plan a strategy for success, know what to do before, during, and after the face -to-face opportunity with the prospect or customer.

This workshop is designed to provide you with strategies, tools, and an easy-to-use process for improving your sales efforts.

Who will benefit?

Anyone who is new to selling or wishes to revisit their face to face selling techniques will benefit from this course. The course will be very practical and will include assessments of role plays.

By the end of the course you will be able to

  • describe the psychology of a sale
  • recognise what motivates you to get that sale
  • consider your personal brand and why consumers will buy from you
  • understand that you will need to adapt your sales technique to the type of customer
  • recognise the key steps in the sales process
  • set yourself personal objectives to achieve on a daily basis
  • list techniques for preparing yourself for the day’s work
  • build rapport to ensure the consumer feels valued and build trust enabling you move the sale forward
  • be able to use questioning and listening techniques to clarify customer requirements and match these with a suitable solution which is tailored to the customers needs
  • recognise the consumers body language at all stages of the process and adapt your technique where appropriate
  • sell the benefits of the ‘value’ proposition remaining adaptable and actively listening for opportunities to close this sale and up-sell
  • recognise the importance of positive language in your conversations with customers
  • be able to solve problems and handle objections
  • close the sale by recognising buying signs and guiding the consumer through the sale
