Xpertise’s outstanding preliminary results for 2007

05 March 2008

Leading training company Xpertise has released its preliminary results for 2007 – showing a company that’s in strong health and reaping the rewards of its successful long-term strategy.

Xpertise’s outstanding preliminary results for 2007 include an increase in revenue of 40% and increase in profits of over 100%.

Leading training company Xpertise has released its preliminary results for 2007 – showing a company that’s in strong health and reaping the rewards of its successful long-term strategy.

Though the training industry remains fiercely competitive, Xpertise’s preliminary results show that some companies at least are doing the right things. With revenue up 40% to £22.3 million and profit before tax up 103% to £646,000, Xpertise has delivered its strongest performance to date.

According to Xpertise’s managing director, Ian Johnson, this continued success isn’t down to one thing alone. “Our traditional business, technical IT training, remains as strong as ever,“ says Johnson. “We’ve been steadily building on this to include professional skills training – such as PRINCE2 and ITIL – along with soft skills training.”

Indeed, Xpertise’s professional skills training has grown by 15% but not at the expense of its IT training business that has grown by 18%. Its soft skills training business has also done well, contributing around £1 million to the company’s revenues.

In addition, Xpertise is making its mark in the managed training services area, which now represents a significant proportion of its revenues. In fact, just two of its managed services contracts have added around £4 million to its 2007 revenues.

“It might sound trite,“ says Johnson, “but a great deal of our success is really down to the quality of our training – the vast majority of our customers come back time and time again, something that’s difficult to achieve in a market that is highly competitive. Our customers tell us that they can rely on us: we don’t let them down and we deliver training that’s always of a consistent quality.”

Johnson is in no doubt that these results are far from being a flash in the pan – and is looking forward to a strong 2008. “Our strategy has been consistent for several years: growing our technical IT training, professional skills training, soft skills training and our managed training services. We’ve been very focused about what we do – and each year our performance is evidenced by our continually improving financial results. We’ve never stopped investing – in our training centres, such as Leeds, which had a £500,000 refurbishment this year – and in our internal systems and Web site. The results speak for themselves: we’re maintaining significant growth across all of our business areas.”
