Xpertise awarded IBM Reseller of the Year for 2007 for its outstanding IT training
21 January 2008
IBM has selected leading training company Xpertise as its Reseller of the Year for 2007 – a prestigious award based on the company’s exceptional track record during the year.
Xpertise has provided accredited IBM training for several years, but according to Xpertise’s commercial director, Bill Walker, a great deal of the company’s IBM training success in 2007 was from taking IBM training services into its managed training services customers.
“Managed training services is one of our key growth areas,” says Walker. “A key part of our success has been connecting with larger clients who have a broader range of needs. Our IBM training has been absolutely crucial in helping many of those clients. During 2007 we increased our IBM training business by 84%”
By outsourcing their training needs to a specialist provider as a ‘managed training service’, companies can achieve performance and cost benefits. “In fact,” says Walker, “we are currently seeing considerable savings and performance benefits for all our managed training clients.”
Xpertise’s strategy has always been to provide accredited training – and its IBM training portfolio is no exception. Xpertise is an authorised IBM Education Centre providing accredited training on IBM’s AIX products and Xpertise also works with IBM to take their wider portfolio into clients. “We see accreditation as demonstration of meeting the vendors’ delivery standards”, says Walker. “Accreditation has always been the cornerstone of our training strategy.”
It’s a strategy that has served Xpertise well since its beginnings in 1993; as it has grown, the company has added further accredited training programmes to its portfolio – until today, when it offers over 500 courses.
“Many IT training companies can’t support corporate clients on products such as IBM products,” says Walker, “which leaves a significant gap in their offerings. Training on these IBM products is vital to larger organisations and has been a key part in us winning and delivering managed training services solutions.”
