Windows Server 2000 Certified?
Have you been putting off upgrading your MCSA or MCSE 2000 to Windows Server 2003? Shame on you, how long has that been on your to do list? The upgrade exam is about to set sail so if you do not want to miss the boat, you should read on…
… Microsoft has announced that Windows Server 2000 exams will retire on the 31st March 2008. Included in the 22 exams that are due to retire are exams 70-292 Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment for an MCSA Certified on Windows 2000 and 70-296 Planning, Implementing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment for an MCSE Certified on Windows 2000. The upshot of which is that it will no longer be possible to upgrade your MCSE 2000 from the end of March.
Is there any point, after all Windows Server 2008 is just around the corner? I think so, with three examination passes you would achieve MCSE 2003 (and that certification isn’t going away anytime soon) and three Windows Server 2008 Microsoft Technology Specialist Certifications: Active Directory, Networking Infrastructure and Application Platform Configuration. MCSA 2003’s that upgrade get two Technology Specialist certifications. So that’s how to go from one out of date certification to four current certifications. If you fancy your chances, you might be interested to know that the Microsoft Second Shot offer has been extended until 30th June 2008. This free offer gives you a second shot at any certification exam, on the off chance you fail. Good Luck!
