Successful desktop applications training programmes

How we’ve delivered large-scale desktop applications training programmes to leading UK companies

A proven track record of success

Xpertise has delivered large-scale desktop applications training programmes to some of the UK’s best-known companies.

The AA

For the AA, Xpertise provided desktop applications training to all of its 4,500 staff when moving to Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003. Xpertise developed a bespoke training programme for the AA, which was initially piloted to a community of around 30 staff before being rolled out to the entire organisation. The desktop applications training programme consisted of a brief overview of the new software, a half-day training course, floor-walking (just-in-time training) when people returned to their desks and the provision of full documentation on the AA intranet. bmi

Xpertise provided a large-scale desktop applications training programme to bmi, one of the UK’s most successful airlines. The programme provided around 1,500 people to support a roll-out of new laptops across the company. The programme was fully bespoke, and delivered in easy-to-manage three-hour sessions to groups of eight people at a time. After the training, Xpertise used teams of floor-walkers to provide ‘at desk’ training which any immediate issues – helping people on a one-to one basis. Zurich Financial Services

Xpertise provided desktop applications training to Zurich (one of the world’s leading financial services companies) on its new e-mail system – to over 10,000 people. When you’re training such a large number of people, the training can have a large negative impact on the business – even if it were just half a day’s training for each person, it would be a cost to the business of 5,000 person-days. Xpertise developed a smarter training solution – a blended learning programme that combined self-paced learning, e-learning and one-to-one at-desk training. The programme was highly successful – with a 95% positive feedback rating. Read the full case study of the Zurich Financial Services desktop applications training programme

A complete desktop applications training solution

We help customers with the initial planning of the training programme, developing the training course itself – which is usually bespoke, and often a ‘blended’ approach combining different learning media – then delivering the training and project-managing the entire programme.
